No, they use worse filters. I posted a OEM filter with low miles cut open. It looked horrible.Ford doesn't put these on from the factory on new vehicles

The two that I did looked great. Can't get much worse than this model. No, they use worse filters. I posted a OEM filter with low miles cut open. It looked horrible.
It was the FL500 version. The factory 820 size filter is okThe two that I did looked great. Can't get much worse than this model.
Did you watch the Ford video in post #10?So why is it automatically assumed this is a terrible issue? Are the engines in vehicles that use that filter blowing up? Or wearing out prematurely? Maybe ask the taxi and limo fleet owners who use the filter on cars that routinely see 300,000 and 400,000 miles. If after all those miles the engines are still running using that filter, I'd say it's a fine filter to use.
The factory FoMoCo filters were Champ Labs in the past. We are currently seeing WIX made FoMoCo filters. What do they use then?
Didn’t know that I figured they were made by the same people. At least Wix isn’t bad from my experience though. The factory FoMoCo filters were Champ Labs in the past. We are currently seeing WIX made FoMoCo filters.
WIX/NAPA Gold are my top pick for Fords. Like others have said, the 910s and 400s are acceptable. For my 2.7 Ecoboost, the FL-2062A is perfectly fine. The cartridge looks exactly like a Mann. It will get a NAPA Gold next change.Didn’t know that I figured they were made by the same people. At least Wix isn’t bad from my experience though.
That is good. I’ve heard good things on the Napa filters too.WIX/NAPA Gold are my top pick for Fords. Like others have said, the 910s and 400s are acceptable. For my 2.7 Ecoboost, the FL-2062A is perfectly fine. The cartridge looks exactly like a Mann. It will get a NAPA Gold next change.
You think it's a good thing that media from tears can go into the engine and clog up VCT screens and such?Yes. What about it?
That video showed sludged up engines that probably went 10,000-15,000 miles between oil changes. Can't blame the media for tearing in that situation, and clogged up screens would be the least of your problems then. Besides, I don't hear clogged screens being an issue with 300,000+ mile fleet cars. You think it's a good thing that media from tears can go into the engine and clog up VCT screens and such?
The video even showed a torn filter. The FL-820S can tear on a perfectly clean engine and regular OCI - many members here have proved that. That video showed sludged up engines that probably went 10,000-15,000 miles between oil changes. Would you use a motor oil with a poor add pack ? Probably not.so where are the engine failures (or related) from using all these defective FL820S oil filters...if anyone has evidence of that I'd like to see it as this still flies in the face of all the actual FL820S users still out there...
I'm honestly not doubting what several members here see with the FL820S filters but I have not seen anyone show the damage that these problematic filters have caused...and at least for certain F150 Ford trucks, there certainly is a large pool of FL820S filter users...
