Most irritating TV commercial on now?

H.I.V. prescription medication commercials.

There's nothing more irritating when you are watching the news and these commercials run non stop. These commercials show the same gender people holding hands, kissing and narrating words like sex and other things. It puts me in the position to watch the news with my hand on the mute button for fear the kids walk in their own living room. Its inappropriate for children to hear such things at a young age.

Keep in mind that everything you shelter your kids from are the things they go looking for as soon as they are out of your sight. Me and my siblings, and our cousins are all living proof of that.
Early exposure makes things like this 'no big deal' when they encounter them in the real world. And they will encounter them.

above was said, "...Only in NYC can you sell wet teddy bears..." The Statue of Liberty (site of those commercials) is in Jersey City, NJ.

Also, I have a friend who thinks Flo is HOT. What can I do?

I get what you are saying, and thanks for that tip. But... I think I'll keep them away from R rated movies, strip clubs, skid row and the Blue Oyster Bar for a few more years.
I was afraid I was going to get flamed for this post but the thread is about irritating commercials and these commercials irritate me. The commercials irritate me because "I" feel they are not suitable for young children. Obviously, the folks over at Fox disagree and take the money to air the ad.

Get a new friend?

Fair enough.

Just understand that I'm not flaming you. And the things you listed are definitely NSFK. But gay people, kissing, and the word 'sex' are all going to come at them when they walk out of your house unattended for the first time. Speaking from experience, all that stuff taking them by surprise isn't necessarily good. My mom over-sheltered....it didn't do me any favors.

I gotcha, but those **** commercials are irritating.

What is up with the Femiclear ad with the the singing wooha at yoga class?
I would think that would offend the intended audience - then everyone else.

And the Allstate(?) singing chrome hood ornament is "Terminator-2" disturbing; add that the Pet Shop Boys song production /engineering and the female singing and lyrics are absolutely terrible and you have a switch the channels fast ! reaction

Maybe these are on cable. I never heard an hiv commercial in my life. I went back to antenna on the roof. Works so well, free HD too. Opinion free news for the most part. This is what happened today, on to the next thing that happened. Now the TVs can record antenna and you can pause and replay them. All you need is a memory card to plug in. I generally like the commercials because they make them funny to keep you watching. It gets irritating when they play the same ones over and over, but that’s irritation at myself for watching them over and over.

The Liberty Mutual one where a guy in a hot dog stand is selling wet teddy bears.

A lot of streaming has no commercials. With Hulu you can pay a few dollars more a month and get no commercials.
Yep. Get'cha wet teddy bears!!
I hate that, LOL.
The guy is the sp(l)itting image of my local (well loved) tire shop owner, so I don't hate it as much as I should.

I cannot hate the Subaru Dogs commercials. Especially the one with the pup doing the arm pump to the bulldog truck driver.

Was a bit disappointed that it's a Volvo not a Mack.

That basketball player in Geico, is awful example to set for young watching, disgusting!!

A little off the subject, but the one thing that I can't stand is a radio commercial that has sirens, horns, or other vehicle noises in it when you're driving. Freaks me out way too **** often, should not be allowed.

One's a radio commercial if that's allowed - 1-877-Kars for Kids over and over again. I'm sure they do noble work but it's the worst. Pearls Before Swine (a newspaper comic) did a joke about it today.

Another is one I actually like, for Subaru I think, also about an annoying song. A family is driving along with the husband and kids signing "It's Raining Tacos" (the most annoying song in the world, if you have kids under 10 you know what I'm talking about. If not, be glad and do not look it up). They get to the end of their journey and the mom stays in the driver's seat to relax after they all get out. It's funny.

They were doing that about a decade ago around here. NO More.
Dangerous and likely disallowed.
Call the station then the FTC.

How about all those car lease ads that don't tell you the amount down required, or the $599.00 "doc fee", or that its for 24months with 10K mile allowance.

except in microtext for 3 seconds.

Who wants to lease a car for $179/mo with $5899 down?

That should be disallowed by the FTC
along with Medication ads for severe diseases that require a doctors exam and consultation then prescription.
Only in the U.S. I hear - follow the money trail.
