Saw Kenda on S8.Falken on an AMG?!
Well yes, I run two sets on all my vehicles. Not saying cost isn't important, that, ride quality, and the fact they lasted 5 minutes was the reason I didn't go with the OE Pirelli run flats on the Jeep. But when the cost is reasonably close between say a top tier Michelin, Conti or Pirelli and somebody chooses the more "BFG" calibre tire on an expensive vehicle, I'm just curious as to the reasoning. Not being combative, actually interested in learning here.If you get two sets, summer and winter cost is of double importance.
Performance (and definitely durability with 2x rubber) will be higher then most Allseason/allweather anyway.
It is not performance while they are new. It is what happens after 10,000 miles.Falken aced aquaplaning and wet braking. Only real drawback is slightly increased fuel consumption.

OK, but the ones he ran, the HS449, rank 23rd on that same site:Falken aced aquaplaning and wet braking. Only real drawback is slightly increased fuel consumption.

And it was in 9th place by Consumer Reports, behind Bridgestone, Continental, Michelin, even Cooper and Hankook![]()
The Consumer Reports ranking does however.Ahh, did not realize it was a different Eurowinter version.
Rank is not a measurement of performance, tells very little.
I'd better go take those off my bike now.Kenda
Being behind Hankook in winter match up is actually an achievement.OK, but the ones he ran, the HS449, rank 23rd on that same site:

Only Ultra High Performance All Season in 285/40/20.Just trying to figure out why somebody would use Falken over say Michelin, Continental or Pirelli if they are close in price.
No, if I am ranked 7th the world in longjump what distance behind the leader am I ?The Consumer Reports ranking does however.
No it is not. Premium brands keep initial performance far longer. Tests are a OK as some kind of guide. But tire is much more than that, especially on high performance vehicles.Look at some test results before buying and you'll more then likely find something middle of the pack for a decent price.
Nitpicking by brand is meh.
You got anything that can back up that claim other then Michelin propaganda? Preferably something not older then 4-5years.Premium brands keep initial performance far longer.
Too much negative camber?I was hoping to take this one on a test drive... NOPE! I don't need a blow out and a crash.

Well, if you are behind Hankook (which I've owned), that's not very flattering. No, if I am ranked 7th the world in longjump what distance behind the leader am I ?
Consumer Reports had done testing and someone posted it here. You got anything that can back up that claim other then Michelin propaganda? Preferably something not older then 4-5years.
