From time to time, I hear comments to the effect that the K&N oil filters provide substandard filtration in exchage for their superior flow. I no longer accept this. I just finished a 7100 mile run of GC, filtered with a K&N HP-1010 (the "tall" one for my engine) and ordered particle counts with the UOA. As you can see ( click here BITOG link), the K&N provided absolutely stellar particle counts. I will probably run a similar OCI with a M1 installed to see what happens, but I simply don't fear the K&Ns filtration quality any more. It did great.
