Hello everyone and few questions on this. Does anyone here remember the mopar max power engine oil from 2003-04'? I have in my possession, 5 qts of it, and its rated SM. Is this ok to use? Also my landlord that lives below me; found 10qts of GENUINE HONDA 5W20 MOTOR OIL, says "made exclusively by exxon mobil". I could use this also correct as its SM rated and dated 2006. I stopped by my advance auto parts and they had a ton of oils on sale, and they asked me who I work for (I had my NATIONAL/ALAMO/ ENTERPRISE HOLDINGS) jacket on, so I pointed to it. The formula shell I picked up; or 5qts of if for the oil change on thursday for a female friends 2001 civic, was on sale at 2.59 a qt, the guy gave it to me for 2.19$ a quart!

thanks in advance for the advice, tips, suggestions also,

have a wonderful evening folks

The Mopar Max Power was made by ExxonMobil as your Honda oil was.

The newer Mopar oils are made by Shell/Pennzoil.

The oil you have and the oil your landlord found will work just fine in your Civic. Don't let them go to waste, use them.

That greatly depends. In what engine are you planning on using it, and what does that engine specify? If the Civic you mentioned; yes, use it with confidence!

Thank you for the info and great advice Johnny! Yeah, landlady was goin to throw the stuff in the trash! It was NEVER opened at all. The max power oil; boss was going to dump it somewhere, and I said I could use it for something. I even got a few cases of newer GROUP 7(PUROLATOR) filters for my civic!

Plan to use Pennzoil Conventional or the honda oil next oci as I am going 5k oci with wix filters. May give the 5w20 mopar max power to uncle that has 04' civic VP.
