Just curious, what makes you think it's discontinued?quote:

oh I mean discontinued SLX,
It is, according to the German Castrol site (although I did read it via Bablefish). It's been replaced with Formula R / RS 0w40.quote:

xCO(hard to read) TOPUP certs. appear similar to the old SLX. SLX longlife 2 now has no SLX name recognition either, it's called "Longlife 2 TOPUP". One can still access "old" products thru their site thus the SLX info. Here's their current line and certs..quote:

I currently have ~7500miles on the GC in the audi right now. I wonder if i should wait for the oil change light to come on, or change it out at around 10k miles? I've only had to add about maybe 1/4 - 1/2 quart to top up. It has been stable over the last 2500 miles with no change in level. Still runs quiet and smooth. No smell of fuel in the oil either. Though, I did change the air filter about 1500 miles ago, so this could change the UOA result a bit.quote:

Just to follow-up, I just sent off my oil sample of GC 0W30 (for 2001 Audi A4 V6) with close to 6700 miles on it. When I get the information back from Blackstone, I will post in the UOA section.
Oh my God!! Someone whose brain is wired like mine?quote:

But many will say we have good UOAs; well I'm not convinced UOAs are the end all for seeing actual engine wear or condition. Race teams could just use UOAs, no more tear downs.
Yes, it was on clearence for $2 a bottle at the Manteca walmart. The manteca walmart has since discontinued carrying the 0w40 and 0w20 Mobil 1 and now only carries 5w30, 10w30, 15w50 and 5w40. They also got rid of chevron supreme and a grade of supertech syn that I think was 5w30.quote:
