I installed an external spin on trans filter in the cooler line circuit on my F-250 back in 2018 and this filter has been on ever since. It definitely caught some clutch material and other nonferrous wear metals as the oil that came out of the filter was pretty glittery. The C6 transmission only has a wire mesh screen for a filter and I installed pan magnets when I did a shift kit and service at 230,000 miles. Trans now has 250,000 miles and still working great after all these years, although I'm not sure how or why it still is. I initially wondered how well this would work and it looks like it does indeed work decently well.
