I'm almost done switching all my cars over to extended drain filters. FU is great on my Hondas but I'm leery of running one on my Infiniti. The one-and-only time I used a Fram (albeit TG) on this car caused the engine to tick.

How's the M1 EP filter? Anyone run in it on the VQ35?

Yes sir I have run the Mobil one extended performance M-108 in my 3.5 VQ. It did just fine with no problems. I just ran the upsize version the M-110 on my car. No problem with it as well. So, you should be good to go.

Mobil 1 oil filters are good, but I wouldn't have any qualms with running a Fram Ultra. I have used Fram Ultras on my '11 Infiniti G37 for the last 4 oil changes with no issues.

Thanks everyone. I know the Ultra is a great filter; no issues with it in my Hondas. I'm going to give M1 a whirl next month and report back.

Don't think you can go wrong with an M1 or a Fram filter. Choose whatever makes you feel good :]

Just check the louvers before you spin it on. I bought a M1-108 and from what i am able to see on mine, some are closed completely and others are barely open.

I'll probably be throwing it in the recycle bin. No sense using a filter that may not filter.

can the longer M1-110 fit?

Usually, as long as you have the clearance for it.

I've run OEM filters on my Infiniti on the last oil change and will probably run OEM again for the next one as I still have a free oil change. After that, I'll be running the two M1-108 filters I got for 10K OCIs. Don't trust OEM for 10K drains. After that, I'll use the Fram Ultras I picked up that was on sale. Can't beat $7 on the XG filters.
