I would say no..there would be some by now if they planed
on it..

the 10w30 isn't all that thicker then there current 5w30,
look up the viscosities on there site.

i'm running HM now and the cars couldn't be happier,no noise.

I had wondered the same thing. After pouring over the product data "tea leaves" for this oil compared to Valvoline Maxlife 5w-30 Full synthetic I have come to the conclusion that the viscosity level is very close to M1 HM 10w-30.

Considering you're in Florida extreme cold start up is not an issue.

meeze,

Mobil 1 HM does come in 5W-30 cuz I just bought some for my Durango to try. It's been my number 1 oil since 89'. The high mileage should be a plus for me.

Are you 100% sure it's Mobil "1" High Mileage 5w-30? Their web sit only lists 10w-30 & 10w-40.

Hey guys,

I did a re-check of the oil I purchased just yesterday it it's confirmed that my oil is Mobil 1 "high mileage" synthetic in 5W-30 weight!!!! Silver bottle with a gold cap.

This is not a blend but labeled "full synthetic". I guess the M1 sight needs to be edited. No way this is a mistake.

So the oil is available out their in the U.S. cuz it's available here in Los Angeles from my local Pep Boys.

daman,

No offense taken dude! :-) The only reason I'm trying it is cuz I'm changeing oil before it's ready and will use this oil for til the next OCI. I figure I need the extra protection otherwise standard M1 is fine.

PS nice pic of the oil I bought.

I put M1 HM 10w-30 in the old Lincoln that my dad keeps at his house in Florida.

About 145k on it, burns oil like a two-stroke. My cousin told me that if I put M1 in it that it would not smoke (still burns oil, you just can see it). After about two days, no more blue smoke. Works for me.

JohnnyO,

You can't go by that wifes tale way of handling excess oil burning. I use M1 in my 89'Camry and it consumes oil wether it's dino or synthetic. If M1 works for you then mo power to ya. You might consider trying a different brand of oil.
