Mobil 1 getting hard to find at walmart

I agree, it is getting hard to find.

I checked the Walmarts in Bakersfield and Lancaster and the shelves were almost completely empty of Mobil 1---Target was out too (I had to do something while the wife was X-mas shopping).

They did have plenty of everything else.

They had a $6 off coupon for the 5 quart jug of Rotella T. I bought two for $16 each with the coupon.

I think I'm FUBARED. I need mobil 1 to change my 06 vibe's oil. I'm coming up on 10k miles with my mobil 1 mix. I have plenty of 15w50 EP! I need 0w20 for my mixing! It's been almost three months since the hurricaine too! how long will this last? I will have to use Pennzoil Platinum if ExxonMobil don't get their act together!

Worst case, you can always mail order some. I did a lil surfing for you and even Amazon.com is out of it. If you really need it asap, surf the web for every possible source and hopefully you can get some M1 shipped to you.

It is irony that my local Walmart had 0W20 and 0W40 on clearance last spring/summer for $2/qt while other grades were at regulqr price of $6.xx/qt. I grabbed all 14 quarts on clearance shelf even I did not need 0W20 for any of my 3 cars.

Coscto and B.J.'s has plenty of the regular grades of Mobil 1 on the shelves if your willing to pay in the area of of $37 bucks for a six quart case.

Just keep checking at Walmart and ask the sales clerks to check in the back. They are getting shipments in but they're not getting enough to keep the shelves stocked.

I was lucky to find enough to last me til spring for both my cars a few weeks ago. They had just received a shipment and a pallet of misc auto isle items was sitting in the middle of the floor. One box was a 6 pack of 5 qt Mobil 1 5W-20. They had AFE 0w30 5qt bottles on the shelf as well which is for my other car. I was nice and just grabbed 1 of each.

From what I hear, the supply issue is supposed to be resolved early 09.

I'm going to keep holding out. luckily, my wife won't be driving the 06 vibe much over the next month since she's graduating from college. But still annoying that's it been 3 months since the hurricaine, mobil 1 is still hard to find.

I don't konw about the slow supply theory vs. no supply but for what it is worth, my Walmart which had ZERO supply suddenly had Mobil 1 10w30 in qts. to fill up the whole shelf, at least 20 qts., and a 5 qt jug as well of the same.
Also had at least six qts. of EP in the same grade.

So either they are cleaning out the back which Walmart claims never happens or they did in fact get some shipment in of at least this one Mobil 1 grade.

I live in oregon and baught mobil 1 at wood village wal mart on 12-06-08 to do an oil change on my brother's explorer, and i did not have this problem the shelves were fully stocked and no sign about any shortage. let me know when they start re supplying it down there. I will check in to it

^Well hopefully that's a sign that the supply issue will be resolved soon.

You folks need to come to Canada. LOTS and LOTS of M1 on the shelves here. Of course, at $9.46/liter and up in price, its a small wonder.....

I always purchase my oil a few weeks ahead of time... but this month, I had to visit 2 other auto parts stores.

There definitely is some type of supply shortage.
