This is from my 2003 Toyota Camry.
7601 miles on Mobil 1 oil.
I run it with a magnet on the top of the can. You can see the particles it captured.
Mobil 1 filter cut open
Thanks for posting the pictures ZZ man.
Looks like the M1 filter did it's job for 7,600 miles and I bet these filters could go to 12K to 15K....with no sweat.
Cheers!
Curious, what type of bypass does that M1 have, dome or thread end? Can't tell if the retainer leaf spring also contains the bypass. Could be wrong, but it almost looks like a typical Fram dome end bypass in the retainer leaf spring.
Many/most M1's have used thread end bypass in the past, but it doesn't look like this app has one?

You can barely see it because it's in the shadow ... but it does look just like the spring loaded plastic by-pass valve in the leaf spring, similar to the setup used on FRAMs.

Yeah, I zoomed in as much as I could, but couldn't be sure. IMO, that bypass looks similar if not the same as the ones Fram uses. Now that Champ and Fram are both owned by Rank, shouldn't be that surprised. Wonder if others M1's will now use similar dome end bypass?
