Bunch of threads about the new Mobil 1 filters made under Highline Warren. Use to be Mann+Hummel.

Maybe I am just that tired…. Or on crack…

But that looks like a Premium Guard filter there… Especially being that it has the plastic wrapped end on it…
It looks similar to filters under the PGI umbrella, but the Mobil filters are now under Highline Warren (use to be M+H), and Highline Warren has no affiliation with PGI. Could be made in the same factory as some PGI filters, but not managed by PGI, but instead by Highline Warren (they are shown as the responsible company for Mobil filter warranty not, instead of M+H).

The only other brand I've used that also wraps the business end in plastic is Carquest Premium, my usual go-to filter as it ticks all the boxes that matter to me.

Most of the filters made under PGI have the cellophane over the base end. Same with the new Mobil 1 filter. Seems to be a broad practice for Asian made oil filters.

Are the Mobil1 filters sold at Walmart different than ones sold in other stores ?

Should be the same. There still might be some old stock M+H made Mobil 1 filters still on the shelves. If it has holes in the center tube, it's the new version.
