Walmart out of filters?

The Walmart service uses their own grade of filters not on the shelves, unless you ask them specifically for something else. So if they were using first brands they will be finding someone else. I think they were. Not something Walmart controls or is at fault for.
They used to use the Fram Core filters, but with FB gone, they’ve got to use whatever they can find. Hard to believe the cheap TLE would use an expensive Mobil 1, though.

Explain this.

Yeah, rage clickbait videos aside, it is not some secret Walmart corporate stealth policy to cheat people on weighted items. None of the Walmart supermarket stocked stores have onsite butchers or weight/package food and are done offsite at centralized processing centers that then distribute out the various stores. Walmart corrected for this and offered refunds to anybody who thought they were affected in this particular area that was served by the particular processing center.

There is also another set of videos on the various social media of a guy sneaking a calibrated 1 KG weight standard to random spot check the various self checkout stations scales at Walmart and so far, they have been pretty much spot on.

Most states Weight and Standards departments usually take this kind of stuff pretty serious and people suspect something, they need to report it.

If it devolves into is walmart is good or bad it seems like don’t go there if you don’t like it or go there if you do. I like it because I have W+, don’t need to go to a store unless for a return in person. So far if I make any complaint about my tomatoes or groceries they give me my money back on the spot to my account. No talking to anyone. I tip 10% to the driver which they get later not directly from me, all of it. I never see the driver except once saw a woman in an older small suv making money the best way she can.

How so?

I go to walmart, they have no 7317. On the way home I buy a filter from AAP or wherever. That sale is now gone. Whatever margin they may have made on that sale is gone. They will never get that sale back, its over. This is why Walmart wants there shelves full, and shelf space is coveted by retail good manufacturers?

Oil filter is also in the back of the store to make sure I walk past everything else. Maybe next time some small percentage of people just decide to go to AAP in the first place. This is retailing 101. Walmart knows it.
I think you described the trip to the milk and eggs - oil/filters and all automotive kit will be next to the service bays …

It hasn't been corrected. WSB TV in Atlanta just recently did an investigative report on this.

I looked up some stuff and know the reason for the Walmart knocking and accusations. I knew something was off. So onward the world churns. I have more oil filters than I know what to do with, and oil.

Don't share this with anyone. But, as a friend, I'm telling you O'Reilly is LOADED with oil and air filters for all kinds of engines. But, if this gets out, bus loads of WalMart shoppers will charge over to O'Reilly and buy them and then where will you and I be? And, you get get into and out of their stores quickly and without a visit to the circus. Prices are not as good but the filters are better. And, if we buy enough stuff fast enough, they have a loyalty program and saves us money. Remember, don't tell anyone.

Plus, you won't get harassed for a receipt and cart check

I can't speak for any other region than where I am north of Atlanta, GA. Automotive (mainly oil and filters) inventory can vary widely depending on location. As the saying goes: location, location, location. There are four Walmart Supercenters within a 20 minute drive from me, max radius is about 15 miles. One store that you might think has little inventory carries nearly every major oil brand, and weight, along with filters galore. Another one in a slightly more 'ritzy' area has a pathetic oil and filter inventory - literally half the shelf space and half the selection. Yet another one, well, they'll have Supertech and maybe Mobil 1 and Pennzoil, but that's about it.

The one closest to me, thankfully, has the best oil and filter selections. Granted now their filter line is about wiped out unless you get Toyota, GM, or Mopar OEM filters. I suspect there was massive hoarding when the bankruptcy was announced, sort of like the toilet paper hoarding during covid.

Okay. As a follow up I knew first brands was filing bankruptcy. I thought Champ labs for Supertech was a separate company. I was aware that Fram had Champ making some filters if I recall correctly. I was curious what would happen but was surprised at the shelf today. Dont hate the playa.....hate the game. Make Filters Great Again!!! MFGA!!!!!
Premium Guard Inc (PGI). has recently acquired first brands. This includes Fram Filters,Champion labs Autolite (spark plugs), Trico/Anco (wipers),
Luber-finer. So it will be interesting to see what the Fram and Champion Labs filter lines look like. Many of the manufacturing plants are already closed and employees layed off. They might just be relabelled premium guard filters in the future?

I'm never harassed at the Walmart grocery stores. It's only at their full service or super centers.
Yes, I remember. They stopped here during covid and never went back. The practice to a degree made sense from there perspective, 90% of there shrinkage is an inside job, meaning you go to a teller you know and they simply don't scan a few things. I think they have camera's on the tellers now so maybe they figured out how to stop it at the source?

So at Walmart today the popular AC Delco and Subaru OEM filters were also “out of stock”. They can’t keep up with the alternatives to the bare FRAM shelf.

ACDelco filters were made by Champion Labs, so they aren't being made anymore. That's why they are gone, not because they can't keep up due to Fram. Champion Labs and Fram were both under the First Brands bankruptcy.

Very Interesting!
