Mobil 1 ESP 0w40 in GM LS Engines

The LS3 of this era will eat anything. I have a 2014 2SS convertible with bolt on mods putting out 425 at the rear wheels (40+ over stock). I’ve always run the spec’d 5W-30, usually a Mobil1 product, currently extended protection. My issue is it only gets about 1000 mi/year (no palm trees here) so I have to figure out what time interval is appropriate. I usually go about 18 months. I would have zero hesitation to put 0W-40 in it. I pay no attention to Dexos. Thats just a revenue extortion by GM. Best accessory for cars used infrequently like ours is a CTEK smart charger.

M1 0w-40 euro is the best value with rebates. Use it exclusively after it was added to dexosR.

Is ESP X4 believed to be the same formulation as M1 Supercar 0w40?

No, ESP Formula was Supercar before rebrand. It’s similar but older and seems to have the less robust VII. ESP X3 and X4 are from the Porsche line of formulas.
