It’s possible. But I remember Valvoline Restore and Protect was first available at AAP as well.

I see Mobil had to one up Valvoline. This one states "Cleans.. in one oil change" Valvoline Restore and Protect takes 4 OCs.
Cleans what though?
Exactly… no mention of piston ring deposits, which Valvoline specifically calls out. The only wording in their materials is sludge, which is a pretty low bar for “cleaning”.
The bottle says "Cleans your engine in one oil change"
Maybe you can also use it as a degreaser?

I don’t think High Mileage and EP High Mileage are redundant at all. The point is that many cars on the road are old enough where they prescribe long intervals but may also want the standard High Mileage benefits. I’m surprised there isn’t an Castrol EDGE Extended Performance High Mileage and similar by now to compete directly.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance has already made that exact claim for years now. That line isn’t a response to Valvoline.
Valvoline Restore and Protect is cleaning the important stuff while Mobil is claiming that it cleans something that is really no longer a problem. At least Valvoline is being realistic with Valvoline Restore and Protect, not so sure about Mobil.
Ive always wanted that as well for Mobil 1 Extended Performance. They have had Advanced Formula, Tri Synthetic Formula, SuperSyn, Triple Action Formula.......they could call it Ultimate Formula!
If Mobil has a "contender for near 99% ring land carbon cleaning," I guarantee you, it would be said as such.

The difference between Mobil 1 Advance Clean and Valvoline Restore and Protect might be - how you clean the house (quick and once in a while) vs how your mom cleans it (slowly and on regular basis).
Hard carbon ring deposits removal is mainly why Valvoline Restore and Protect touts four OCI’s . * I’ll wager Mobil cleans soft sludge in one OCI - but not hard carbon ring deposits .
All mobil has said is API SQ mobil 1 products will hit the shelves in late 2025 early 2026. I asked mobil and their response was they had no information around the SQ formula
Just got an email about Advanced Clean from Mobil- $15 Advance Auto gift card with purchase. The oil is $38.99, however if you add a Carquest Premium oil filter to your cart, the whole thing is $37.99. Going to try the 0W-20 in my Daughters 2022 CX-5.
The viscosity and the TBN look low too.
