Many oils can remove some degree of sludge in one oil change. Doesn’t say how much; so it’s not actually saying much.

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t believe PAO is used for cleaning. Usually AN’s or Esters are the big cleaners(high solvency).EP claims it removes sludge in one oil change. Their big claims are still there despite PAO going down.

Here is a discussion on base oils; see specifically,Looks like a corrosion inhibitor.
As noted, sludge isn’t the same as varnish or piston deposits.EP claims it removes sludge in one oil change. Their big claims are still there despite PAO going down.

I meant that EP's claims haven't changed a bit despite whatever change they did in the chemistry. Infact it has increased to 20,000 miles now, the old bottles said 15,000. I still trust Mobil though, they don't make bogus claims.Someone will correct me if I wrong. I don’t believe PAO is used for cleaning. Usually AN’s or Esters are the big cleaners(high solvency).
True. PAO has little to none cleaning capabilities....I don’t believe PAO is used for cleaning. Usually AN’s or Esters are the big cleaners(high solvency).
EP is a great oil for sure. LSJR testing at the HPL lab showed GTL/PAO/AN base.I meant that EP's claims haven't changed a bit despite whatever change they did in the chemistry. Other than dissecting the engine, is there any way to tell if pistons have deposits? My engine is over 200,000 miles now. I did the usual stuff like investigating the used oil filter but it was very clean, even under microscope. The dipstick is super clean, power and gas mileage haven't changed and I have never noticed any moisture builduo because I drive so muchAs noted, sludge isn’t the same as varnish or piston deposits.
buildup not builduo. LOL The Dipstick being clean is a good sign!Other than dissecting the engine, is there any way to tell if pistons have deposits? My engine is over 200,000 miles now. If you don't have oil consumption, then the deposits aren't really an issue.Other than dissecting the engine, is there any way to tell if pistons have deposits? My engine is over 200,000 miles now. ZERO oil consumption. Nothing changes on the dipstick after 6000 miles. If you don't have oil consumption, then the deposits aren't really an issue.
Bro, that's all I could up with at the stoplight lolbuildup not builduo. LOL The Dipstick being clean is a good sign!
I missed that video by Lake. Do you recall the title?EP is a great oil for sure. LSJR testing at the HPL lab showed GTL/PAO/AN base.

I understand, I can barely dial a phone number when I am at a stoplight. I do not have a Smart Phone, I have a Flip Phone, when I get smart, I will get a Smart Phone.Bro, that's all I could up with at the stoplight lol
Some really good info scattered throughout this vid.

I was honestly surprised how good Truck and SUV did. For years I thought it was just marketing for a tad higher viscosity. Who knew how shear stable it was!!I had warched this video but couldn't recall the EP part. Thanks.
It shows that Mobil is a great company. No bogus claims and marketing, those oils are really different. This new R&P competitor will be different too.
