Blackstone Lab report:

Sample; 6/29/06 Rpt; 7/14/06

(Comment)
"No problems showed up in the second sample from your Ion. All wear read close to averages
for this type of engine, which is a very good indication of normal wearing parts and careful operation. The universal averages show normal wear after 4000 miles on the oil. Insolubles (oil oxidation due to heat, use and blow-by) were low at 0.2%, showing good oil filtration. No fuel dilution or anti-freeze was found. Silicon was normal showing good air filtration. The TBN was 3.4, okay - 1.0 is low. Try 7000 miles for next sample and check back to see the results. Nice engine!"

How many miles on this engine?

Thanks, Al. It's an 04' Ecotec with 20,000 miles. Driven with a usually soft foot to get up to speed, but then as fast as I think I can get away with!

In the line of engines..this engine is the only bright spot for GM. And they probably have not figured that out yet.
