My comments: Drove much more normal this run than the past ones. I think I'm seeing some idling and winter cut down on my flash point here...not sure how that would affect the wear. I put in Mobil-1 5W-30 EP this run, but this time there's a Mobil-1 M1-210 EP filter instead of a Motorcraft FL-820S...so, when I change out this mix, I'll ask Blackstone to do another particle count (maybe someone can translate what the heck those numbers even mean?) and we'll see just how much better at filtration the Mobil-1 filter is than the wonderfully inexpensive Motorcraft's.
I looked again, and I still have like 1/3-1/2 a court of consumption...not really sure I like that, but I don't know what I can do about it without upsetting the trending I've been doing.
I also have like 60% of a gallon of FP60 here with me. I used it on the way out, and during our stay there, in my dad's Expedition when we went to Yellowstone this summer. Used it most of the way back also. My thought is, before I switch to another oil like I'd intended to do this upcoming oil change, maybe it'd be a good idea to see how FP60 affects a UOA? I mean, we've got a pretty good trend going above, and I've got the FP60 just sitting here...
Any ideas on that, vs. trying another synthetic oil, such as GC, Redline, etc.? I'm personally leaning towards using the FP60 with 5 Qts. Mobil-1 5W-30 EP and a Motorcraft filter...but that's just me.
Until next time...

Blackstone Comments: Nothing unusual turned up in this sample. You've run a slightly shorter oil change interval for this sample, and wear looks about the same. Steady trends like these show no new mechanical problems developing. The viscosity was just a little high for a 5W/30, though we don't think it's hurting anything. No fuel, moisture, or antifreeze was present. The TBN read 4.8, so the oil still contains plenty of active additive. The particle count read 14/11, quite clean for an engine oil. You could run more miles for the next sample if you wanted.code:
