I've been reading all these great things about Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w30 oil, but what about the 10w40? Can it be determined by looking at the product sheet if the 10w40 HM is one of their more PAO-flavored oils?

Mobil 1 high mileage pds

I just recently switched from 15w50 to 10w40 HM in the old e320 to slow a couple drips, and it seems to be working like a charm thus far. Engine seems as happy as ever and the drips have slowed to a near halt.

My brother put this oil in his Toyota sludge prone V6. Working very well. Car has over 200,000 miles on it using nothing but Mobil 1.

I use the 10W/40 HM(it has 1000ppm zinc) in all my muscle cars. So far it has been a great oil. I do add ZDDP to this oil for my tappet cams.

I wouldn't care if it has mostly PAO or mostly Grp III as long as it works in slowing your leaking problem, and it doesn't make your engine feel sluggish or your car does not consume more fuel then use it without worrying.

so does the 10w30.

OppositeLock, no one really knows what elf juice XOM uses. Based on the notably low -54C pour point, we're speculating that the 10w30 may have a bit more PAO, or other 'mo-betta' stuff, than the average 'synthetic' goop.

M1 Zinc numbers here (for anyone who's missed it)
