Coming up to 75k in my ‘21 Nissan Versa.

Oil: 0w20

Having trouble finding the major difference between Mobil 1 Extended Performance and Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage. I’m guessing high mileage has higher percentage of seal conditioners.

I’ve only used Mobil 1 Extended Performance since my car has been new. I’ve done all my oil changes at 5k. I have also sent all my oil changes for analysis and have never seen a bad report.

If I continue to see good reports, is there any reason to switch to high mileage? Or is high mileage more so marketing?

HM has more Group V bases for seal swell. Might also clean better but if you've maintained it well and it's not leaking oil, it's not necessary.

I've used mostly Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20, for ~10k mile runs (what the manual calls for) in the '12 Camry. It's got 210k on the clock, and doesn't leak any oil, or burn any appreciable amount of oil on those runs.
I'm saving Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage in reserve in case that changes for me, but have been very happy with the oil. It seems to be a safe assumption that the primary difference would be seal conditioners, which should be moot if you're not leading/burning any oil. I'd stick with what you're doing - 75k isn't particularly "high mileage" on a modern-ish engine, in my opinion (I'm coming up on 3x that).

I agree...I wouldn't use HM unless I had a leak. With 75K on a 2021 you must not be short tripping that Versa so I'd go more than 5K on Mobil 1 Extended Performance (probably 7.5K minimum). If I were changing at 5K I'd use Kirkland, Supertech or even QS.....even they could probably go 7K+ without causing issues.

I was under the impression that I should use high mileage oil as a preventative. If having a leak, high mileage oil won’t fix the problem.

I agree that I don’t believe 75k is high mileage. Just going off the bottle of Mobil 1 because it says 75k.

I know I can stretch out my oil changes and probably go 7k. I’m just so conditioned to change every 5k and do with my tire rotations.
