Mobil 1 Advanced Clean vs Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage

Just wonder what is the difference on these two oils besides the new Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is certified on the new API SQ / ILSAC-GF7 and probably High Mileage oil have extra seal conditioner? Just wonder how about the ability to clean, high temperature durability, and friction modifier for extra fuel economy?

From other threads, I’ve gathered that Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is a complete reformulation, separate from the Extended Performance and High Mileage lines. It’s still relatively new to the market, and I don’t think many people have really evaluated its cleaning capability yet.

I just filled my wife’s car with it and plan to post photos of the filter at 3k miles to compare with the filter from the 3k interval when I ran Valvoline Restore and Protect. I’m not sure it will prove much, but at least it will give a visual comparison.

I can't comprehend why XOM put out their version of Valvoline Restore and Protect that won't clean pistons though; couldn't their engineers figure it out like Valvoline's?

Maybe it does, I would not put too much weight in water marketing mambo jumbo they put.

Because they didn't discover the ingredient (special molecule) that they (Valvoline/Lab) synthesized.

Also, other companies have PhD Chemists. It's not limited to XOM.

Yup, it's that simple. Nobody else, at this point, has been able to replicate it.

So AN is new to me. Group 5 ester? Thats what a quick google told me. Do group 5 ester base oils have better lubrication properties?

Hey Staff,
Can you gents do an evaluation on the differences between the Mobil 1s...extended performance 20K/triple action 10K now the advanced clean. Any difference besides cleaning out your wallet?
Also is it worth changing the oil & filter every 6 months vs waiting for 5000 miles? I purposely included the filter since I noticed several people change the oil but not the filter...I think that not the way to go. If anything changing the filter is just as important if not more important...me thinks.

Sadly - Walmart gets a D- for dropping two jugs loose in a baggy bag - they looked pounded and one leaked slightly …
(First Mobil 1 I had leak at all) …

One time I ordered a couple of bicycle tires from REI. That's a product that could probably survive a thousand-foot drop directly onto concrete as well as your baseball. They arrived, as you say, "packed like an egg," surrounded by lots of padding in a too-big box. Weird!
