Toyota began specifying 0W-8 in some of their volume sellers - Grand Highlander Hybrid and certain Corolla models.

Specific to 0w8? That means no other options listed in your Owners Manual.
Or is 'Specific to 0w8' only in reference to Hybrid models with your engine?

The new 5th generation hybrid system is now standard in the new 2025 Camry it is stickered 0w-8 under the hood

My son's Rav4 Hybrids specifies 0w-8. Our new Accord Hybrid specs 0w-20. All I know is only use full synthetic oils.

For Toyota it is binary choice when it comes to fuel dilution: why having bit of gas in oil, when you can have bit of oil in the gas.

When we got our 24 corolla LE sitcker of 0w-8 on,found out dealer got it for less 20$/quart no way. Finally walmart got mobil one at less 30$/5 quart that's what I'm using now but still to go dealer for that annual oil change x 2 per free maintainnance. and to pay attention to that invoice if they will use 0w-8 that will be around December 2024.Until it's still in warranty it's 0W-8 on it but it will not matters if I change it 5k miles interval.

Are you sure about this? We have a brand new one (250 miles on odo) made in Ontario, Ca and it still uses 0w-16. In all the owners manuals it still have 0w-16 listed.

Your Sons must be a 2024 Rav4 Hybrid then. Mine is a 2023 and has a 0W16 sticker under the hood.

2024 still has the 0w-16 sticker too as of a May 2024 build date.

I felt like a rebel putting 0w20 in the Camry that specifies 0w16. Advance honestly didn't have any 0w16 in stock.
