Mixing Schaeffer synthethic grease

I have some Schaeffer #197 I want to put in all the places my regular grease goes in a chevy 2500hd and a new land cruiser. I hear i am not supposed to mix bentone grease with lithium based greases. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to proceed?

Completely wash the bearings off the previous grease.
Then u can use the bentone grease.

....and/or purge, purge, purge, doubling if not tripling up til you pump out all the old grease.
