Had a few success in the past but this just seems like another they don’t make them like they used to thing.

No, it doesn’t work.

Aren't those machines like that owned by someone else and they just pay stores rent for the space ? If the key doesn't work, how do you resolve it ? At least when an employee makes them and they start seeing failures, they know (you hope) to get the machine re-calibrated or have new cutters installed.

I have 2 locksmiths I like and have done quality work for my neighbors and me. It's worth it to me to pay a little more to have keys made right the first time and shop with a small business. Nothing wrong with ACE but they don't have as many different kinds of blanks as the locksmiths have. My locksmiths have given me good advice that's saved me time and headaches.

Email refund. I live within 3 mins of a Home Depot so no big deal but if you drive 20 mins each way to get a copy then it is a freaking waste of everyone's time.

I go to my local old school hardware store where they have an old time key machine and people who are competent at using it.
