Michelin x radial LT "2" - issues

have a new set on a Highlander. maybe 6000 miles, 205 70r 16
Had the "original x radials lt on it before- these new ones do 2 things the old ones did not

1. on super smooth asphalt roads the tires howl with a whirr noise

2. they pick upon or two small rocks and at 35 or 40 mph sling them out of the wheel well.

Interesting. Any reason you opted for the X instead of the LTX M/S? The later seem to get nothing but stellar feedback.

The X version is sold at places like Sam's Club and Costco. Personally, I'd avoid either version like the plague. Been there, done that, lost my butt.

There's a small difference in the tread design, and little else.
