IMO this is one of the best things about the LTX series. They simply do not change much at all as they wear down. And they wear like STONE.

No issues at all; they grip like no tomorrow and the ride is REALLY smooth. It may be because these are 20", but they do not "roll" in turns like some of my other trucks have in the past. I am especially impressed with the wet road handling--there have been a couple of times where I was going faster than I should have been and the tires held on. They initially had some whine to them, but that seems have to faded (or I am accustomed to it, but I do not think so--I am sensitive to squeaks, creaks, groans, knocks, ticks...well you get the idea).

I do not have anything negative to say about them, well, maybe the price, but they are wearing like iron so it seems that I would have a good ROI.

Have to totally agree with that assessment. 2/32" wear in 30K is really good for truck tires that have seen crazy heat and towing.

That really IS good. 1/32" for 15k miles. And it sounds like it performs every bit as good as a faster-wearing tire.

***4th Update***

I now have nearly 40K on the tires now (at DT rotating and balancing them again). They have exceeded my expectations in every way. The tread is sitting on 10/32 out of 13/32 and all tires are wearing evenly. This is a far cry from the Pirelli tires that I removed...in another 10K the Pirelli's would be completely worn out.

At this point I have no reason to doubt the Michelins will not live up to at least the 70K they say they will. These are great tires that have held up to the towing and heat that I have punished them with!

They are wearing very evenly--front or rear does not seem to make any difference. However, I rotate them VERY regularly.

I am just shy of 70,000 miles on these tires and they are sitting on 9/32 (new they are 13/32). TOTALLY worth the money and they have been wearing very evenly and still handle like they were new. The OEM Pirelli's would have been gone 20,000 miles ago.

At this rate, I am sure that I will see 100,000 miles of life on these making them a superior choice and a great ROI--particularly with the towing and "hot" roads these have been on.

70k miles on and 4/32 worth of wear? You've got to be kidding?? I will DEFINATELY be paying close attention to how these perform on the work trucks this winter now that most of the fleet has switched from the old M/S to the M/S2's. Can you characterize your driving style?

2010_FX4 has put 35K miles per year in the 2 years he has had these tires. That's much, much more than average.

And since tires wear very slowly when driven in a straight line, it should come as no surprise that he gets exceptional wear out of his tires.

So everyone who is reading this: Be aware that you should NOT expect your tires to wear similarly unless you drive like he does.

Heh; yeah, there were no turns (the road was completely straight), the load was normal, the road temperature was 70 degrees, and there were no mountains involved.

The OEM Pirelli's only lasted 51,000 miles under the same conditions. The Michelins are far superior to anything I have used in the past and I have no reason to doubt they would not perform equally as well on anyone else's vehicle (straight or curvy roads notwithstanding).

I installed Michelin M/S-2 in 255-55-20 size on my F150 4x4 when my originals wore out at 37,000 miles. I now have nearly 57,000 miles and the tires still look new.

Not only that, but they corner, brake and ride great. I'm very pleased. Also excellent in the rain.

How do they compare to the Pirelli Scorpions that came with the truck? They corner just as well, that is to say, aggressive driving reveals no faults, no squealing, and sports car like grip, quite unlike the skinny tires on my F150 Ecoboost. They are better in wet conditions, with very little traction loss and subsequent "traction control" engagement. And they are clearly outlasting the Scorpions.

Very close to same results here for me. Same size 255-55-20 on my 4x4 Mark LT. I got 40k on the OEM Pirelli's. They were shot when I put on the M/S2's. I now have 30k on them and they have been great. Wearing perfectly. I would expect to get at least 60k on these.

I tow about 45% of the time with an 8-10K load in the heat ranging from 100 to 110F. There are highway miles, but there is also a fair amount of mixed city driving. My FX4 is not treated as a cream puff and is normally driven between 70-80MPH unloaded and in between 65-75MPH loaded. It has been offroad and has been in the snow quite a bit. Rain is fairly frequent in Texas including heavy thunderstorms. The Michelins have exceeded my every expectation. As I said before, the Pirelli's only lasted 51K under the same conditions and these are at 70K and are at 4/32" tread wear. You be the judge...

Put set on my 2010 F150 FX4 also.......have app. 40k on them now .... They have worn 2 - 3/32 ....these tires are superb in every way.....this tire should have been the OEM

Mine are almost worn out with 40k of 99% city driving. Lots of turning and driving fast kills tires. Roads west of the Mississippi are very wide and straight so I can see how people get 100k out of a set of tires.

Most of the roads I drive on were in existence while that territory was still part of France so they are old and nothing is straight for long.

There is not a finer tire in the world in this category. I have had multiple sets on multiple vehicles (obviously MS & MS2). Simply awesome. If you take care of them they will do 70k easy.

Guess I am the one guy that has not had good luck with these tires. My set would not balance for anything, road force had the worst one out like 135 or something crazy like that. Costco ended up replacing 3 of the 4 tires but they were still pretty bad. I finally took them off at around 22k miles because I could not take it anymore.

Totally agree! If memory serves, when I price checked the OEM Pirelli's they were more than the Michelins and the Pirelli's were not readily available. I can thank the guy at DT for pointing me towards these tires--I would have been sick to spend that much on the Pirelli's and have them wear out (again) at 50K.

I have these tires on my Dodge and they have been great so far. Smooth, quiet, and great in the rain. After relocating to Houston, wet traction is a mist considering it has rained most of the past few months.

I currently have about 20k on them and are at 10/32nds on all four. I am com uniting more now, straight shot 108 miles a day, all highway. So will be interesting how they do.
