Michelin HydroEdge Experiences

Sciphi,
Read the terms of the rebate and see how long it's going on for. I see the HydroEdges' w/rebate all the time. The rebate may be off for a month or two but then it comes back. I'd still try to get'em during that rebate time, why not?

Just pulled the trigger on the HydroEdges. They'll go into the basement for installation in the fall while the Pirellis get worn out this summer.

And, they're here. UPS dropped them onto my doorstep. Submitted the rebate offer online, and now waiting for the check.

I'm sure that you'll love these tires especially if you install them in the Autumn when we will be experiencing lot's of rainfall. Or, will you be switching right over to the winter tires?

Avoid these tires at all cost! Until michelin gets on the ball with better customer service, avoid all of their products.

Mine lasted 2 yrs and got noticable dry rot. By 4 yrs they were an all out fatal hazard. Dry rot is not covered under warranty and they blamed "environmental factors out of our control". Tires had less than 20k on them and had 8/32 some were 9/32.

I doubt that as every other brand tire I have shows no sign of dry rot and they are double the age.

They're going on in late August, right before cooler weather rolls in. My snows go on around Thanksgiving, so they'll have about 3 months use before being put away for the winter.

My P4's are showing a touch of dry rot at 75k miles and 3 years of use. I'm not too concerned about dry rot since this car will wear this set in 3-4 years based on my present driving.

Are yours the LRR Green X version? I don't think hers are...

That's interesting as my mother has a set from 2004 which have about half tread after 60k or so... Nicest black tires I've seen considering their age, and they've never been garaged a day ever...

Yes, the ones I received are the GreenX LRR version. The LRR is what persuaded me to spring for these over other tires.

I have a set of Primacy MXV4's on my Civic...At 3.5 years old they have significant weather cracking. My Jeep has Firestone Destination LE's that were installed at the same time and no cracks at all...both vehicles sit in the same driveway.

Interesting complaints. Since we wear them out so fast the Michelins we use on our fleet trucks never show much visual aging, but remember that ozone in an enclosed garage can be very corrosive to rubber parts.

I have them on my Suzuki SUV AND my Legacy, excellent tires.

before these tires I had Goodyears on the suzuki, and I could drift it around corners.. grip was horrible, now these michelins have 50,000 miles and with half tread they are still holding on and can't break them loose! I drive my Suzuki SUV like a sports car, tow with it, off-road it.. and yes after 50k miles the tires still have half tread.

Also have them in my Subaru Legacy and no complains... they have 70,000 miles on them (my highway trip car) and still have plenty tread! I have another set of new hydroedges waiting in my garage to put them on when these tires reach 100,000 miles in about a year.
