Metal vs. Rubber Valve Stems video

In case anyone is interested- a video that discusses Metal vs. Rubber Valve Stems.

Video suggests rubber is the way to go, unless the tire is exposed to off road and equivalent conditions.

for off road conditions a flexible stem is likely still better. As short as possible too.

For off road conditions I think I would install these flush valve stems instead. No chance of knocking them off,

I've had rubber valves dry out and crack. Push them to the side and they leak air.

Rubber is better. Spend the $3 to get them replaced when you get new tires.

Every car I've ever had came with Rubber valve stems, but my Shelby came with metal. I assumed it was due to the tpms being located in the valve stem, but other similar applications use rubber.

Maybe wheel speed?
