I am sure I am not the first person to bring this up but I didn't see it when I did a search.

I have a Ford AX4N transmission that calls for Mercon V.

What are people's thought's on the Wal-Mart Super Tech Mercon V?

I don't think you can wrong with dedicated Mercon V.

Supertech is certainly cheap and readily available.

Havoline on Amazon is even cheaper in a case of 12 though.

Maybe Autozone have a few bottles of unlicensed Valvoline Mercon V still available for $1.

I run ST Mercon V in the following Fords I own or have owned.
2007 F-150 SCREW
1999 & 2001 Taurus
All have ran past 150,000 miles with no problems. I use it with zero worries.

Walmart ST Mercon V is licensed & approved by FMC

Have the same transmission, used Walmart Mercon V all the time. Still running strong at over 200k. It's fine, use it with no worries. I did get a nice supply of $1 Mercon V from Autozone though.

Wolf359:....Are you suggesting the Autozone house brand of Mercon V is a good quality ATF.

I have an AZ in my area but I think the Supertech price is hard to beat or even come close to.

You got a super deal at $1 per.

Thanks to all who responded.

Does anyone know who makes the Mercon V for Ford?

maybe the same plant that makes it for Wal-Mart?

Nothing wrong with Super Tech Mercon V. I actually just put some in my truck's PS pump today...out of a 3-4 year old bottle.

In the transmission I have used Super Tech, Castrol, and Motorcraft. Never any difference or problem. If it's named and licensed as Mercon V, it's good.

Right now the transmission has Motorcraft in it, but I just bought that because it was cheaper and easier to buy a case through work than to go to Wal Mart to get Super Tech.

I think Motorcraft is a ConocoPhillips product.
