Mercon question

Older Ford transfer cases require a special fluid available only from Ford. Older Ford power steering takes Type F ONLY. Dexron III and Mercon are basically the same and interchangeable. Always had been. I use M1 trans fluid in mine.

After looking at a few options, which as surprising as it is, nothing is affordable in this country. Plain Jane Dex/Merc is 10$ a litre, Maxlife is 12$/L at Cambodian Tire, 10$/L at Walmart (I think that price came down a bit). So my other option, which I will try is my go to, Co-op ATF SL. It's suitable for Mercon and comes in at 10$/L. It's always available and I can use the left overs in pretty much everything. It's full group 4 as well so it's cold properties are decent, apparently better than LV Maxlife.

Attached are some technical properties for both.
