Own a 2005 e320 CDI Mercedes (OM648) and need to replace the turbo actuator.

Mercedes does not sell the part by itself. Looks like it comes with the Turbo Charger which is no longer available. Part number for the turbo charger is 648 096 02 99.

The turbo actuator has the words “Hella” on it with a number that reads 6NW 008 412. There’s also “Garret” printed on it with a number that reads 712120. Not sure if these numbers are part numbers.

Can anyone provide a solid manufacture name that continues to sell these actuators.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

That's not the correct actuator, the listed applications are only '07-'09 E320's.

OP, there should be one more number on the unit, a G-XXX number of some kind. I referred to this site:
Turbo actuator list

As you can see, there's multiple variants of the same 6NW 008 412 part number depending on the exact spec of the turbo it was installed on originally.
I figured it got superseded as stuff usually does.

There is always Ebay...

Now whether it lasts after being refurbished is anyone's guess. Cars that are this old it's junkyard shopping time.

Will clean up the actuator a little more and see if I can read more numbers. Thanks !!

What is wrong with the turbo actuator? Did you scan the car for codes and check live data?

G-109 is the number etched on the metallic part of the actuator body. There’s also a separate number (17074) etched on metal. I also see H-06 faintly etched on the metal.

G-109 is the number you're looking for. Here's one, if you Google 6nw008412 and G-109 you'll find lots of other options.

If it were mine, for $300.00 and refurbished units are available, I'd take that thing apart and refurbish it myself.
It looks to me like those metal clips hold the thing together. Not to mention the fact that they want a core returned. That tells me something.

I’m not 100 percent sure that the limo mode symptoms are being caused by the turbo actuator. Getting codes P0103, P0113 and P0401. Might have a big leak somewhere or EGR is toast.

The Mercedes Forums talk about the turbo actuator or the turbo itself being the culprit for my car driving on limp mode. Prior to these codes, I had no codes, and my CDI would run on limp mode here and there. Turning the car off and back on would reset everything and I would drive for months without issues. My CDI is now running on limp mode permanently.

I’m researching all parts availability for the turbo because I know that new Garret Turbos for my w211 e320 CDI are no longer made and good turbo actuators are hard to find. Just covering my basis and hoping anyone on this forum can chime in, especially those that have CDI and have experienced these driving symptoms (limp mode).

Any input is greatly appreciated.
