Looking for a good alternative to Genuine Mercedes Transmission Fluid (MB 236.14), part number 001-989-68-03-18, for my 2005 and 2006 E320 CDI’s.

The Genuine Mercedes transmission fluid is $24-28$ per bottle now.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

MB 236.14 fluid. The Shell ATF 134 was factory though Fuchs also said they supplied factory fluid. The Shell is probably the least expensive and Amazon has 6 packs for <$50.
Started out using the Fuchs from FCP, but changed to Shell the last time because of price.
You'll still need to get aluminum bolts, a gasket, filter, and stand pipe that are usually cheaper as a kit from one of Euro parts places like FCP or Autohaus.
Edit: Forgot to say my E320 is a 2008 with the 7 speed, but it's the same fluid as the 5 speed.

This, 100%.

236.14 is not as special as some make it out to be. Castrol transmax and valvoline maxlife both list 236.14. I've used transmax with great success.
