Dealer wants $62.00 for one Liter of Power Steering Fluid.

Any good aftermarket P/S Fluid that meets or exceeds the recommended P/S sold by the MB dealer?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

I think it specifies CHF11S fluid. You can order it from RockAuto for about $20 or get it for double that price at a local parts store. Either way, it's cheaper than getting a liter from the dealer.

CHF-11S is what you need. About $20/liter. Less if you buy in bulk (and you would have no reason to buy in bulk unless you’re doing a flush).

I buy mine from FCP Euro, throw in a wiper blade or two, maybe a filter, and get free shipping.

FCP dropped the price since I posted, it was $25 a couple of hours ago. It almost feels like these companies know what you are doing and shopping the price.

Two MB dealers provided me with two different part numbers for the P/S Fluid. One dealer gave me 000 989 24 03 09 and the other one gave me 000-989-88-03-11. Part number 000-989-88-03-11 is showing up as Transmission fluid. The parts guy pushing for 000-989-88-03-11 is adamant that it’s the right one for my car.

Correct ⬆️

I think you're okay using what others have mentioned already; Pentosin. Your vehicle may have been built during a period of time where they transitioned from ATF to PSF. I recall when VW did that in the early 90's.

Mercedes has been known to switch between ATF and Pentosin. Pentosin CHF 11s/Pentofluid 11 is the safe bet. If the car didn’t come with a tandem pump for power steering and hydraulic suspension, ATF might be OK.

And to make it more confusing, Mercedes also used a ZH-M fluid, if you had ABC or Magic Body Control and dealers would sell it as PSF.

Probably Pentosin CHF 11S or 202. They also have a cheaper alternative called Pentofluid EHF, which comes in a plastic bottle rather than a metal can.

Napa has Febi M6162 which is non-synthetic like the old CHF 7.1 (which Pentosin doesn't make anymore). It costs a lot less than the synthetics. Febi also has a synthetic S6161, but Napa doesn't carry it in the US, but you can get it from Amazon
