Yesterday I took my W212 E220 Bluetec in for service. I always take my own oil with me (Mobil 1 ESP 5w30). The mechanic told me that he also added an oil additive to the oil for "better protection". I really don't like oil additives in my oil. I believe that it will mess with the oil formulation. The additive he used is the Nano-Motorinnenversiegelung FÖRCH https://www.foerch.de/product/0a814...75eba992/nano-motorinnenversiegelung-foerch-5. I have never heard of this company. Do you think it would be a waste to change the oil again?

It most likely doesn't matter, but when it happened to me I drained it out and refilled with the correct oil only.

Are you experiencing Fahrvegnugen? If not, I would switch it out.
I would have a talk with the owner of the shop, about adding things to the oil, you didn't ask for.

Thats what I thought too. I know its most likely placebo but this morning the lifter tick that I have sometimes on cold start was much louder
Not next time, now. I'd go in and ask for it to be drained and the oil changed.
I would run it without thinking about it further. I would give any German product the benefit of the doubt. You are not dealing with motor medic or Rislone
I'd make them change the oil at their expense using the ESP 5w30 again.
Additizing oil without permission is a HUGE no-no. If someone brings you their own oil, HELLO that should tell you they have strong feelings about what goes in the crankcase, and anyone with a reasonable awareness of others should know not to even consider dumping in oil additive without specific approval.

Just harmless nano snake oil, I wouldn't loose any sleep over it. AFAIK it is made for them by Bluechem who makes the same stuff for a few other brands, all equally worthless.

tell the shop you want the oil and filter changed and that they owe you oil. totally unacceptable
