Oh, I thought 30 weight....it's an old car w/160k. I'd get 20 weight, thinking the quality would be good, but was also thinking about HM adds for this old clunker....seems like it'd quiet down the gears.

Yeah but Saab's have notoriously rubber/notchy shift quality. You should be fine w/ Maxlife but don't think the thicker the better. I went 20W50 in my 900 at one point and had to drain it after a week. I could barely get the thing in gear. You aren't going to suffer from having a high quality synth but be aware SAAB people will treat you like an idiot for putting synth in. Funny how when saab finally started selling it's own tranny oil it was synth, though. Perhaps the seal material is different in the older ones, though...
