Hi guys

I have flushed the auto 4 speed in my 08 nissan versa with Maxlife ATF - The OEM spec fluid is Dex3 - As I understand Dex is a reg ATF and the Maxlife is a highly friction modified fluid.
Could the maxlife cause any unwanted slippage or negative effects - I emailed Maxlife and that say not to worry ?

But maybe some of you gurus know different.
Cheers

I thought the fluid required in this vehicle was cvt fluid? I have a customer that wants to service his transmission and specs are calling for cvt fluid. Weird. His is a 08 also

Maybe the Canadian Versa doesn't have a CVT? Wouldn't be the first time our neighbors to the north got a different engine/transmission in a car.

Maxlife is supposed to be a high quality synthetic low viscosity ATF that Valvoline claims meets Dex VI spec, which is back speced for Dex III anyway. It's universal fluid but seems to be centered around Dex/Merc.

Thanks guys - I do not have the CVT trans but the good old fashioned 4 speed auto -
I know people who have the cvt's and all have failed before 60,000miles!

Maxlife is HFM's since it is a universal multivehicle ATF.

It'll work fine in your Nissan transmission.

No it does not; at least not in all of them.

GM 4L30, which specs Dex 3, has a dislike for the Maxlife ATF fluid....tends to cause harsh shifting, etc.

This has been noticed by more then 20 different Isuzu owners in the Trooper and Rodeo; upon returning to Dex 3 or Castrol Import fluids, transmissions go back to normal.

Per a transmission specialist, it's known for certain older designed transmssions to not like the newer fluids

For anyone with a Maxlife isssue, did any of their transmission specialists reset the TAPS?

If this is happening, I assume it would happen with any DexVI fluid, not just Maxlife.
