Massive fire at Walmart e-commerce center

From a quick look, none of the other warehouses have similar tanks though. Those tanks are large too !! 30,000 gallons or more each ?
If it is like where I work, there is a power sub-station as well as water tower on the property so that any outside factors do not shut down production or operations. There is also a drainage pond, and planted forestation. ESG stuff and compliance. Of course Fire and EMS personnel as well.

The watertower is your standard one that looks like a landing UFO, though. Not a grain silo.

There is supposed to be chemical suppression in the sprinklers, as well.

Something seems suspicious as to how that large, that fast. The fire is still burning so we do not yet know.. just we that work in an environment know that it should have been minimal, due to internal fire safety, upon arrival of County Fire and HAZMAT.

Hearing now that the fire department got there in less than 3 minutes
And had to leave from there because the fire was "untenable."

Walmart writing off everything.

Correct…and thanks to who edited my post! 👍🏼

I tried to figure it out in other terms. 1.2 million square feet comes to 23 acres so 1.2 billion would be 23,000 acres. That would be a pain if the boss tells you to go to the other end of the warehouse and bring back something. 🚶

So, how big of a loss will this be on the books for Walmart? And what percent of the normal yearly profit does this represent?

As to how it effects the common consumer, will there be shortages that other Walmart distribution centers will not be able to pick up the slack for?

And on a personal level will PUP 0W-20 be still unobtainable In The 5-liter Jug for a longer time?

Since no one got hurt I could throw in that last line of humor.

I guess after the toxic stuff is cleaned up they will probably have to bulldoze the whole site and start from scratch.

It’s a big loss that’s for sure but to add some perspective, Walmart has over 150 distribution centers world wide.

My guess is that the supply chain will remain intact as they utilize other centers and adjust things until a new center is built.

How do you monitor air quality? Do you have equipment on campus or are there gov't run meters near by with instant data?
We have some kind of equipment or a service. It is handled by our operations folks and they just tell us the numbers. I've not seen it but get the reports. So I don't know if it is some kind of hand held device or an instrument located on the roof, or what.

Guessing you knew some of my neighbors/friends who grew up & stayed here. Shawn Zore? Jeff Matthews?
I know of them but don't know them personally.

I was in what I believe was the smallest class ever through SHS. I think we had just a few over 80. I always tell my Ben Davis kids that I was in the top 40 in my graduating class and they think that's a big deal, LOL!. They have classes that approach 1000, like you probably had at WCHS.

need details, can B alota smoke, sm fire. Patients till details are out~

Neighbor Amazone took the employees in for care, pick up, and shelter (when @
person to person level, not corporate, things are quite different).

Are these facilities growing too large?
