Mass Air Flow Sensor?

Change the ATF instead. That often gets overlooked along with other fluids and the pcv valve.
Regarding the pcv valve. So you think I should replace the 2 pcv valves along with the 2 pcv valve hoses just as general maint. ?

Replace the PCV valves, sure, but the hoses ? That's not typically done.... I suppose if they're pretty short runs and each end is easily accessible, go ahead. They could have oil residue built up inside of them. You could also shoot some brake cleaner in them and get rid of residue as well.

I sincerely want to thank everyone who has replied to my thread. I am no means a mechanic but am very big on maintaining my truck. Anything that I can do to get better gas mileage is extremely important to me. Thanks again and if there is anyone else who wants to comment please feel free too. I really like this website a lot!

I cannot believe we all did not ask you this question... What kind of truck do you have?

2008 Nissan Titan LE 4x2 Crew Cab 5.6V8 Flex Fuel Engine.
Huh, didn't expect that make. Question time: Does the truck still ride well at 150k? Any suspension issues during its 150k? Still as powerful as the day you got it? Any major or even minor repairs on it?

I have hated Nissan for a while ever since my dad had a '95 pick up truck. Rear axle went, engine lost compression, clutch failed. My dad drives like an old lady high on pot. It was not his driving at all.. 130k miles and it was junked.

Recently I had an Armada rental (2019 model). It was hands down the best SUV I have ever driven. Power, ride, amenities, comfort. Did I say power?

I asked so I could see what kind of truck you loved at 150k.

Yes my truck very strong. The my truck is 317HP bone stock. Just a few weeks ago I had all the camshaft position sensors replaced along with the knock sensors. For maint. I had them replace my cabin air filter. My local mechanic said that I needed to take it to my local Nissan dealer which scared me to death regarding how much the cost would be. Out the door it was $1,600.00 which almost gave me a stroke! LOL.

I just recently installed a new battery myself because it needed to be replaced. A few years ago I had a few little things that needed repaired but I can't remeber what it was off the top of my head. I would have to dig in my filing cabinet.

Regarding suspension I haven't done anything yet. When I go over speed humps it will make a crunchy type sound. Not sure what is causing that but I do intend to replace my front coil over struts/shocks... along with my rear shocks. I think I will be going with Gabriel struts and shocks because of there lifetime warranty. I was considering Bilstein 4600 but the price is kind of high. I will also this year have all full brake job done which will include all brand new rotors/calipers/ and ceramic pads all the way around. That will be towards the middle of this coming year.

I do not like Gabriel Struts and shocks. I had a very bad experience with them a bit back. I would seriously look into the bilsteins or even go nissan again. I know someone will chime in and say Gabriel makes the shocks for Nissan or something, but I'm just telling you my Gabriels sucked. Shouldn't need a lifetime warranty on shocks and struts.

Thanks a lot for that info!

In this video, the comments were full of people trashing Gabriel's shocks, so they turned off the comments :sneaky:

Yes, well I'll briefly summarize my experience. Bought new Gabriel's for my rear shocks, old rears were OE with 150k (ish) on them. I was young and dumb, and thought it would make my car feel NEW AGAIN!! YEAH!!

Installed, put old ones in trash. Literally three days later they were ****. Total ****. Tried to return them, (I was 17, I'm 42 now) and whereever I got them from told me I had to deal with Gabriel. Yeah.. Put the old ones back on and threw the Gabriel's back in their boxes. Spoke with Gabriel, they told me I had to pay to ship them back, and they would "test" them, and if they passed I'd have to pre-pay if I wanted them shipped back... NOPE, I just threw them out and trashed their name everywhere I went.

Hank Hill. I forgot to mention one other thing that my local nissan dealer found on my truck. Check this out! Some varmint (squirrel, rat, ect) chewed this wiring harness up bad! So that had to be replaced too.

I hate rodents, specifically chipmunks. A munk ate the wiring harness for the four 02 sensors on my BMW 750i. Dealer quoted 2.5k. Local ma and pa, 600. You definetly needed a lift for that repair, you had to drop the exhaust too. Local guy took pity on my poor soul. I am terrible to those things all year round. I feel guilty for a few mins every time I "eliminate" one, but then I think of all the bullchit I went through with that car and my blood boils. They ate a vacuum line too, I fixed that.

We have Red Tailed Hawks, Falcons, Golden Eagles, and Bald Eagles here. You would think with them nesting in my yard they're would be a shortage or critters, but there is not. Must be good eating in the orchard behind my house. I contemplated getting some barn cats for this purpose, but the neighbors said no.

What about Monroe for rear shocks?

Hank Hill! Do you know if Walmart is a Bilstein distributor? I can't find that info online.
