Major fuel brands not in your area?

Chevron pulled out a few years ago, you can go to Wikipedia and read about Chevron leaving the East Coast.....and I, like others miss them.

They didn't leave completely - just a few states. I was in PA a few months ago and passed by several Chevron stations. They're a major presence around here.

Their HQ is here, although it moved from San Francisco to a suburb a few years ago. Their first refinery is still in operation in Richmond, California. It's also really odd because there's a neighborhood called Point Richmond that used to be the company town for the refinery. It has the highest housing prices in the city and is considered a nice neighborhood, even when they constantly worry about refinery accidents discharging stuff in the air as well as "stay in place" warnings to stay indoors. The rest of the city is mostly known for gangs, housing projects, and blight. There are some other parts that are away from the downtown that aren't too bad.

Texaco and Chevron left my area about five or six years ago. We now have Mobil, BP, Valero, Shell and a bunch of Exxon stations, plus smaller retailers like Sheetz and Kangaroo.

I think brands may not necessarily be that much of an issue compared to parent companies. I'm not sure where the BP and Arco brands share the same market. ConocoPhillips now own the Conoco and 76 brands. I heard there was a push to save the 76 brand name. Not sure with the Phillips 66 brand spun off. Chevron and Texaco are now the same company. And of course ExxonMobil.

No Chevron, Texaco, 76, Conoco/Phillips 66, Arco out here. It's a shame because I really want to try Chevron to see what the hullabaloo is about.

here we have..shell, BP, speedway, swifty, marathon,murphy, kroger and just last week one marathon was replaced by a Mobil! i was happy about that. it is way busier as a mobil station as well. I use all the stations except swifty around here.

No Chevron up here that I have ever seen. I wish there was. I contacted them and they told me they had no plans to expand to the NE though.

There used to have Texaco's everywhere but they went away a long time ago( Irving bought all the stations up ). Arco is another one from my youth that was here but has been gone for a very long time.

Mobil/Exxon
Hess
Valero( only one I have seen up this way but there is 1 )
BP( just started coming back after being gone for years )
Getty
Citgo( they are slowly going away though )
Assorted no-name stations

BP, Exxon/Mobil Hess, Shell, Sunoco, Getty are most common in my area, with BP Mobil/Exxon being the most common. Never seen a Texaco.

I pass by that random gas station at Stanford quite often and it always looks out of place.

Not sure why we don't have more of the other major brands in the Bay. At least we have Chevron though.

Shell left north Idaho about 3-4 years ago. Conoco has a big presence here.

Don't forget the Wawa on every corner in Richmond. We have Citgo stations as well. Kroger usually has the lowest prices, especially when you add in the 10 to 40 cent per gallon discounts for using their card.
