C'mon! 3(K miles) X 9("FREE CHANGES" with Dealership approved oil that meets the Factory spec) = 27,000 miles in approximately 34 months... Conventional or otherwise.
Why on Earth would you not just use this program if you expect to drive your car anywhere near 1,000 miles per month? Why would anyone ever even consider replacing a vehicle with the same make if they didn't "trust" either the manufacturer OR the dealership?
Cheers!
p.s. What was the last time someone had a service agreement (hopefully in writing?) involving a new car purchase with the selling dealership (backed by the factory) that the dealership unilaterally cancelled? Has to be anecdotal at best, IMHO. I had a free (I paid $39.99 once) oil & filter change with the SVX when new and had almost 30 changes before it became a little too inconvenient to drive to any of the "Family of Dealerships" stores to get it done. All I had to do was call the Subaru Service Manager and he would make an appointment for me at one of the other facilities. He'd send an OEM filter ahead of time if I gave him enough notice in advance.
p.p.s. Videotaping oil changes is a little on the OCD side IMHO, but...
"Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you!"
