It seems that there is a difference between Magnefine's automatic transmission filter and the one for power steering units. Here is a quote from their emails to me:

"The only difference between the Power steering and the Transmission filter is the by- pass valve setting. The power steering system runs at a higher flow rate and a sustained higher pressure."

"The MagneFine In line magnetic filters are for Automatic transmissions and Power Steering applications. There are three line sizes. 1/2" - 3/8" - 5/16". the Power Steering application is 3/8" line size."

I didn't know there was a difference and got curious when I noticed on the BOSS web site one had a white label and the other a yellow one.

I did not know there was two different filters other than sizes?

Thanks for the heads up. I have been using the white ones on the trans and power steering.

I would think the trans would have more volume not the power steering?

the p/s pump can push 400psi when the wheel is cranked hard.
the tranny I don't think goes up that high? Maybe 90psi?

Not on the return side that the power steer filter would be on. The filter side is low pressure. I was talking about the volume as well.

Are there different modules of the MagneFine filter for power steering
and automatic transmissions? Your web site shows one for power steering
units with a yellow label, and a white label for automatic
transmissions. If there is a difference, how so internally?
Thanks

The only difference between the Power steering and the Transmission filter is the by- pass valve setting. The power steering system runs at a higher flow rate and a sustained higher pressure.

You recently inquired about the MagneFine Power Steering filter and the MagnaFilter for Engines.

The MagneFine In line magnetic filters are for Automatic transmissions and Power Steering applications. There are three line sizes. 1/2" - 3/8" - 5/16". the Power Steering application is 3/8" line size.

The MagnaFilter installs on the engine. It works with the spin on filter to remove the metal contamination that the spin on cannot remove.

I have attached our Flyer for each product.

Any questions please contact me direct

Thanks
