For an evaluation and PICS see the bottom of page three in the vehicles section.

Got a link? I think things have moved since you posted...thanks in advance.

Thanks! I commented early on in that thread and missed the later parts/pictures.

When I said I use M1 0-20 his eyes lit up and said he was long time user of M1 oils. He has used Fram Ultra also with a filter change at 10K for quite a while as well. Interesting who you might meet while traveling.

What make / model and year vehicle was this 20K OCI user driving?
Did he admit to being a first & last owner of his vehicle?

There are people like this that do 20K OCIs - brag about it - then sell their vehicle before it reaches 200K.

Cool story indeed. I haven't had one of those yet. Even my car friends and co workers don't care about oil.

Still the typical PYB causes sludge, synthetic to dino harms bearings etc.

For some time now I have thought that keeping your oil topped off is actually more important than changing it. 20k is likely doable on even SuperTech Synthetic. A friend went 18k on ST synthetic with his old Dodge Caravan, but he had at least 3 makeup quarts along the way - no ill effects - the engine was very quiet when he junked it - the rest of the car wore out. I would not experiment with a car still under warranty.

About a 10 year old Ford, as mentioned in my thread. Also I did not interrogate this man. A friend put 350K on his 99 Chevy 5.3 with 20-25K OCIs with M1 5-30. When sold the engine ran great but what finished it for him was the third trans failed. Got $800 for the truck.

Drive it for 200-300K and report back.
