So i picked up the oil from our dealership to do the second oil change in the wifes denali and they tried to give me the 20wt junk. I said no I want the oil yall are reccomending for the recall engines. This was free so I made sure and got the good stuff. My question is where is all the API ratings and doughnut? And why is half of the bottle written in Spanish?

Nice. I imagine there was a shortage domestically so they sent some foreign stuff which wouldn’t have API labels as it wasn’t intended for the American market.

Yes. They said the first service is free. I said that I change all of my own oil in everything I own. I asked for the oil, they gave it to me. I just signed a ticket that they said they did the service, and I was out the door
They may not sell enough to warrant paying for the API donut license even if it meets a certain standard. You can always contact Mobil and ask.

Actually 1/3 of the bottle is in Spanish. The other 2/3 is French and English. Makes sense to me considering those are the 3 most common languages spoken in North America.
What 20w Junk did they try and sell you? Help me out because I'm not familiar with any 20w junk.

They sold you a 0W-40 variant that has no API rating. The version you find in parts stores and Walmart does.

I thought that the replacement for the 0W20 crap is M1 0W40 FS, not the Dexos R Corvette approved 0W40.
As I mentioned before, the furthest I’ve driven with 0W20 is home from the dealership.
