How many samples does he need to test before you'll trust his results? 100?

Since you clearly don't do this for a living, why not ask Tom NJ?

"How many samples of Mobil 1 EP would you need to measure to make statisically valid inferences?"

He's already admitted he can make no inferences at all on any other Mobil 1 formula but the EP since he didn't measure any.

I personally think that if he found group 3 in two different samples of Mobil 1 products, then it is extremely rare that it is a fluke (such as someone buying the stuff from the store and putting a different oil in the container and returning it for example)

Patman, don't waste the effort. We all know the reality here. Well . . . almost all of us.

Do we have an award for causing the most threads to be padlocked in one month?

One things for sure, this topic has brought the board back to life lately with all the battles!

We all have personal opinions.

I was under the impression that the reason for analyses and the like was get past opinions to some facts.

'

If that's the case, then why do you keep refusing to face the facts presented to you here, and keep offering your opinion that Mobil 1 has not changed??

The facts appear to be that one out of multiple Mobil 1 formulas in two viscosities showed up what seemed to be some Group III in an informal session with a GC according to Tom NJ.

Do you have any other facts?

Even if I did, you'd refuse to believe them anyhow

I've believed every *fact* up to this point.

However, I've also been under the impression there should be a fair trial before the hanging.

Whatever the case may be..... the stuff still tastes the same.

Please, in case I miss the definitive answer.....

Shout at me if Mobil 1 or one of its derivatives is NOT a true synthetic (however that is actually defined) so I can find a commonly available locally true synthetic to dump into that deep dark hole at the top of the engine.

Thank you, thank you very much.

I agree. I see a couple more padlocks have hit.

That is a sufficient number of "datapoints" to draw a conclusion.

well @ least M_M doesn't have the logic that higher price MUST mean better according to some of the SoCalifornians that post here.

Why do hate SoCalifornians ? What did we do to you ?

It would be appropriated to say "... higher price MUST mean better according to some posters ..." without calling names.

Back to topic. Mobil 1 European Car Formula 0W-40 passes both 229.5 and 229.3 and approved to be used in newest AMG engines in USA. No other oil available in USA can be used in newest AMG engines that require 229.5 oil.
