Don’t understand your point here? SP is of those, BY FAR least stringent. While I agree with the sentiment, that might be overly generic as m1 esp 5w30 is API SP.
of course it still has

Sorry I should have quoted better, You said esp had more ZDDP.Don’t understand your point here? SP is of those, BY FAR least stringent.
Take into consideration that ESP has much more ZDDP content than EP.
Yes, 0W30. Oil in question here.Sorry I should have quoted better, You said esp had more ZDDP.

Maybe I missed a post somewhere?
But I do agree as I mentioned several posts ago with ESP over EP.
That's for regular mobil1You forgot this part from their web site where it says: for further information, look at Mobil1 Limited Warranty:
"
The Mobil 1 limited warranty is valid for 10,000 miles or your vehicle’s OEM recommended oil change interval, whichever is longer.
Additional requirements for all Mobil 1 products include:
- Oils must be put in service not later than five (5) years from the date of purchase; and
- an oil change must be completed every twelve (12) months."
In practice, the warranty isn't worth much. Any synthetic can go 1 year, but maybe EP is worth it if you drive many miles in a year. What the period of coverage is
The Mobil 1 Extended Performance limited warranty is valid for 20,000 miles or your vehicle’s OEM recommended oil change interval, whichever is longer.
Additional requirements for Mobil 1 Extended Performance include: 1) Oils must be put in service not later than five (5) years from the date of purchase; and 2) an oil change must be completed every twelve (12) months.
It is not. Vehicles making such mileage are easier on oil. That means not so many short trips. That's for regular mobil1

Extreme performance?
I mean PPE 5W40 has Porsche A40 approval, which requires 8X1hrs of Nordschleife run. What extreme performance test does Ultra Platinum has?
Also, Euro oils have higher ZDDP levels, which are antioxidants.
Any BITOG old timers remember ANYONE ever successfully pursuing a warranty claim with Mobil 1 or Pennzoil (I think they have a 500k mile warranty)? Honestly the fine print here doesn't seem too hard to follow. Probably proving it's an engine lubricant related failure might be hard. That's for regular mobil1

It's kind of puzzling to me how we're treating OEM approvals as merely co-equal with oil marketing claims. This is an interesting debate. On one hand ESP carries approvals that require extended drain capabilities in Europe. On the other hand EP claims 20k in only perfect conditions.
In my opinion EP in severe conditions under performs ESP as I’ve seen some varnish following the OLM posted on here. My vote is ESP.
But, Triple Action???It's kind of puzzling to me how we're treating OEM approvals as merely co-equal with oil marketing claims.
As if it's equally authoritative to have some oil company make a claim about the product vs having a carmaker test that product and sign off on it to their own stringent requirements.
Looks like you’re making things up as usual once again. Why don’t you ask TIG1 if M1 EP can go 18kAre you saying ESP oil won’t go 18K miles even if approved for VW504.00 ? Seems like M1 is at odds with itself .
Your reply makes no sense - I’m happy if M1 EP can go 18K or any OCI a user wants to run it in their vehicles … Makes no difference to me.Looks like you’re making things up as usual once again. Why don’t you ask TIG1 if M1 EP can go 18k
With that type of driving with the port injected 2.0 you can do 10k intervals with EP and you should not have any issues with sludge. Doing a UOA is a great way to confirm that the oil can handle the longer intervals.@Patman What do you think about a '24 civic 2.0 strictly highway driven with some light highway stop and go? I run 300 miles a week on the highway ( takes me no time to get on the highway for the commute ). Im running EP now and have been... I usually go for a 6-7500oci, wondering if it would be worth stretching out to 10k? Utilizing the OEM filter as well. I may do an analysis and see, which we know is the best way to determine if it’s working. I dont mind the few extra bucks on the M1 EP oil, but just curious if I can go further, really dont want to get sludge etc.
