Worn bands are worn bands. Adding a friction modifier like the Lucas is a bandaid fix. It may not even work at all if the band and or clutch pack liner material is toast.
The clutch packs may be in the same condition as well. The material may be worn, missing, or so brittle/glazed that it is non-effective.

Worn components are only repaired by a mechanical fix/replacement.

Lucas claims it does, printed on the bottle:

Lucas Transmission Fix with ATF Conditioners - LP10009
Transmission Fix with ATF Conditioners stops slips! It's polymetric film renews worn bands to stop slipping. It cleans and lubricates sticking valves for proper shifting and controls heat and foaming. This product will extend fluid life up to three times longer. It completely stops most seal leaks. Results are usually immediate. It?s the perfect preventative maintenance product to stop initial wear in newer transmissions. Compatible with all transmissions and transmission fluids. Will not void warranties and contains no harmful solvents. 24 OZ. Bottle

Just curious as how the Lucas Transmission Fix can renew worn bands?!?! Is it possible using their additive?

The word "renew" basically means to replace.

As MUD has stated, nothing replaces worn frictional material so the claim is without merit and is technologically impossible.

What they mean I think but is not spelled out well is they have a lot of dispersant and perhaps a solvent to de glaze and clean the clutch paks
if glazed and clogged with oxidation by product this may work but to rebiuld and put back friction material no way.

Remember the phrase "up to." I doubt it would do anything for old, oxidized fluid.

In my view, most of these claims are suspect.

"Lucas Transmission Fix" has also been shown in Lucas' own testing to be effective in neutering pets, relieving colic, and correcting erectile disfunction . . .

That's good Ray H. So do many other products if you read their claims. I like and use Lucas Products, and have had very satisfactory results from their products. If you have a tranny going out why not give Lucas a try, If it works for awhile you can buy sometime before you have to get it rebuilt. If you get anywhere from a few weeks to a few months life out of your tranny using Lucas your ahead of the game what's the cost of a bottle of Lucas $8.00.

This kind of thinking is what they are counting on to make you buy.

How do you know it would not have lasted as long without it? What if by adding this stuff and driving it more you are not doing more harm that will end up costing you more money than if you had just fixed it as soon as problems showed up?
