Hey guys. Had a question, when i shift from reverse to drive my truck wants to stumble a little bit every now and then. Is this a shudder problem? would using some lubegard red help? fluid and filter have both been changed so that i do have all new fluid. Truck has a lot of miles on it (cared for miles)and didn't know if the lubegard additive would hurt anything in a higher mileage(150,000) vehicle

I don't know if it will help, but it certainly cant hurt it. I've never heard of a bad report about Lubegard Red. Some inconclusive reports, and a bunch of positives.
It almost sounds like you are a little low on fluid, but if not add it.

2003 ford sport trac....Just when i back out of a drive way or parking spot and go from reverse to drive. Nothing when running ...No problems there. Fluid is at the full line as well.

i know a lot of people are against using additives but really what could it hurt if i say just dumped half a bottle in you know? Just don't want to cause the trans to slip or make any new problems for me.

How old is the ATF? If over 30k miles, have it fully exchanged.

If the ATF has <30k on it, siphon a little out of it and add a full bottle of Lubegard.

If the ATF has

5 oz wouldn't really be over filling it....the fluid has a few 1000 miles on it

A full bottle is 10 ounces, use a full bottle. I doubt it will matter being over 10 ounces. In fact I haven't had a professional tranny service done yet that left the transmission filled properly. You can easily take some ATF out with a simple extractor pump used for filling differentials and transfer cases. It looks like the pump on a laundry detergent bottle. In fact you can make your own from one of those detergent pumps, and some clear tubing. It will work for removing a small amount of warm ATF.

So 5 oz wont help my trans out at all? was thinking about putting in half a bottle then dumping the other half in a week later...should i do this or just dump the entire bottle in?

I would dump the entire bottle in all in one shot. If you already dumped in half a bottle, just add the other half.
