Lake's been teasing the testing of Amsoil Signature Series for a while, but he went much further by testing HPL, Redline, LiquiMoly, Ravenol, Mobil 1, and Driven oils. All tests followed the same method on a dyno.
Liquimoly did great! Lake mentioned some benefits of group 3.Oh Lord, you just woke @TiGeo up with those graphs(with the exception of shear, which he has noted in his data).
Sorry I must have been posting mine at the same time.I posted a thread with the link to this video, also. Your post is much more comprehensive than mine, plus you took screenshots of the graphs. I've asked the mods to delete my post.
Couldn’t agree more. The testing goes way beyond taking oil samples. He also tests oil vs water temps' delta, KRL shear, Torque, TEOST, followed up with an oil cost comparison.
In summary: "When it comes to engine oils, there isn't one best oil. All of these oils have different characteristics, and depending on what your application is, one of the chemistries here might be better for you".
Shear stability too. I wonder what HPL thinks of those TEOST results as I know they have a TEOST test in their lab. Probably all the moly makes it difficult to achieve a good score on that test. RL also has a good slug of moly.HPL absolutely dominated extended service!
No Vll dominated as expected. Not sure why the TEOST was bad.Shear stability too. I wonder what HPL thinks of those TEOST results as I know they have a TEOST test in their lab. Probably all the moly makes it difficult to achieve a good score on that test. RL also has a good slug of moly.
HPL absolutely dominated extended service! PDSC 113 minutes, Amsoil second at 88 minutes. The rest were left in the dust.
This was one of his better vids. He even mentioned wear metals are basically the same. Which is what he should be saying in his other ranking vids.Where are all the Lake haters now? 3...2...1 "Yeah but......."
Where are the lighting experts that are going to claim the light wasn't at the right angle for these tests?
What about the API licensed oils doing better than boutique in the TEOST? "Yeah but....."
