Low Oil Prices: Saudi Arabia Says It's Ready To

Funny thing how the market works, even when part of it is a cartel. Shale, tar sands, and a huge find off Brazil, among other things, are serving as a counterweight for Saudi greed. I call it greed because their governing system of payoffs is dependent on oil on the eighty dollar region, they worked their way into that trap without considering that SOMETIMES, prices go DOWN.

No, they need the money to pay off their citizenry for the social welfare state the government runs so as to stay in power.

Same thing in Russia, and why neither big producers can cut production when prices are low. They'd potentially have revolution and be strung up like the way they treated the political opposition in the past.

There's a lot more going on in petroleum prices than fracking and shale. Those are just the local parts of the puzzle the media can explain easily without having to work too hard.

Yes the banksters are [censored] at the BRIC nations and the petro dollar exchange etc and the new world order..

Yes, they want is the deeper pockets, if a govern is a foe like in here, mening that it has tried to say it gives more for the poor, they go after this govern, theatrically showing its corruption, that always was there with the former gov friends that lost elections in the past decade, corruption was there before, but secretly buried. Before that when was a dossie or corruption scandal, some family kills a kid or any other strong red herrings, like that. Nobody (press) talked much about corruption before, as if it never happened, kkk. Funny if not tragic. Now, you dont hear any other stuff. Gov just dont rule anything without avail from the hegemonics... If it tries, then you see the nowadays news. Witches hunt. Old and reiterated facts, becomes a novity, for the cattle (us).

Humanity is just a Big Cattle of Spienzas, still ruled by its creators, that are anything near perfect. Colonies, from once a dozen tribes ...

We should be thankful in a way. My relatives in the UK get excited about less than one UK pound per litre!

That's a given. The thing is they don't remove it when the price sky rockets. IMO any politician advocating tax increases should be voted out ASAP or recalled.

They have to be made to understand that they must control spending and stop spending taxpayer monies like it was Monopoly money.

So true. We collected RECORD revenues last quarter, so we have a spending problem, not a taxing problem.

Time for our Govt to start working just like we do to cut costs and save if the budget numbers don't line up...

Is that RECORD number adjusted for the population increase or just inflation? The dollars collected per tax paying citizen would be interesting to see.

What really burns me is how the cold war ended nearly 25 years ago yet we spend so much on "defense". I put defense in quotes as bombing and invading countries who are not attacking the United States is arguably not a defensive position.

Take a look at the south end of Manhattan where the twin towers of the World Trade Center were .
Now tell us all about not attacking us ?
BTW that was the second attack .

That's fine if in fact the money actually goes to fixing the roads.

I understand the dislike of wars, offensive to most. But defensive capability is rarely needed if truly credible, and the only reason this country exists is we were willing to fight for it (see WWII).

Correction per this link I was talking 3 quarters...

Will it stay low? Tough to say....

We are so well trained to brace for high gas prices that I wouldn't be surprised if something didn't just "pop" up in the middle east to raise prices and pad some profit....

Once the Saudis drive the American frackers (and their financiers) out of business, they'll start cutting their own output. Right now this is about regaining lost market share and driving out competitors. Just the royal family guarding their oil patch against the upstart Yanks...

That would make way too much sense. I mean, its a drunken frat party now, guzzling cheap oil and enjoying it all. Who wants to pee in the party punch now? Especially right after Wall Street gave us years of a weak economy thru fraud (see the movie "The Big Short" out Dec. 23).

For all you people who understand it all, why aren't we "Buying Low, to sell High Later" right now? U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserves show no movement: http://www.spr.doe.gov/dir/dir.html
