For you, 1 mount replacement is equivalent to about 147 posts.

How about you search Google and YouTube to see if anyone has ever posted either a write up or a video on how to change it.

enginner, your the single reason why Michigan car insurance is the highest in the U.S.. How about you be responsible and get that POS car off the road? You are as dangerous as a drunk or texting driver!

@qwerty, not my fault, the city of detroit had 1 million ppl but now, still at least 600k people and that is way more than me alone. Basically, insurance in the city is more expensive than in the suburbs, the city of detroit as well as many other reasons such as no fault is why insurance is expensive, not my fault alone.

enginner, I did not drive for 10+yrs due to a revoked license. I managed to get around the far West suburbs of Chicago on a $400 bike. It's time to hang up the tools and buy a nice Trek mountain bike! If I worked at one of these Belle Tires I would of called the police on you as you left. Of course, you get off on this response because you are mentally ill.

i got in a minor accident in the parking lot with the taurus. the taurus is fine, but a small scarpe on the front bumper, i'll just touch up paint it, but the person i hit was a 2010 volkswagen cc, we said we wwon't go thru insurance, he'll fix it, and then give me the bill and i'll pay for it and we're looking at places to repair it at, i'll do more research next week, but so far, he looked at a place charging him about 500 dollars. is that too much or reasonable, i left a dent, can i pull it out with a dent puller? i also offered to fix it for him with touch up paint and a dent puller, and give him 1-200 dollars for whatever he wants to do with it if he wants to fix it further and as a sorry payment, but he might not accept that, is gerber collission and glass good or no?

is it even worth fixing and apparently, the cc, which i never even heard of is better than the passat and is a luxury car, so luxury cars are even more epxneisve to fix, right, or should i go thru insurnace, but going thru isnrance is risky, as in the past, a few of my minor incidents were reported and they show up on the record, BUT for some reason, they didnt' give me any points or rate increases, whereas this other time in 2013, there was a rate increase for a minor parking lot incident too similar to this and my rate increassed like 33% because of that for 3 years and will drop off june of this year, so i do NOT want such an increase, but if i report it thru insurance, there is also a chance it doesn't increase my insurance rate, and i dont' pay a penny, so it's a gamble.

either with insuanrce, i pay nothing and have no rate increases, though it will show up on my record, or it will show up on my record, and i'l be responsible for a rate incrdease, as well as possibly paying a deductible (i've had a few minor accidents, like parking lot accidents, they happened about once a year, right now, there are like 3 on file, one per year) for 3 years of a rate increase (though it may not happen)

or i fork over the 500 to him and have him fix it at the place he had it checked out at, or I spend a week doing research, finding a cheaper way to fix it, OR i offer to fix it and give him 1-200 dollars. what's the best option? Thanks. I can post a picture later.

That's right kind of you to offer. And yes, pics, please.

but the thing is, i'm not a body shop and i'm not an expert, but i do have a dent puller and i could buy touch up paint for him, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal

here's a picture of it.

How did the front bumper of the Taurus hit that area of the CC? I can see backing into that area but not going forward. Also the point of impact seems very high up on the door.

i hit it entering the parking lot, i was in a rush and i was exhausted that day, the taurus bumper just has a scrape (no picture yet) but the taurus is fine and i'll diy fix it (easy, sand it down a little, prime it, then paint over it with the red spray touch up paint ,I had, shoudl I use white paint as a base caot or chassis paint or high temp resisant paint as a base coat before the final coat of red dupli color "matches ford colors" paint?

$500 is more than good to have it fixed. I can easily see it costing much much more than that.

My 2004 VW Beetle had a small ding in the door from someone in a parking lot and I got a quote for $404 to fix it.

Just expect it to be higher, and don't throw a fit over the price. It's gonna cost what it's gonna cost. Looks like the door skin might have to be replaced. Hard to tell from the picture.

I've done plenty of body work helping my dad, who has done it for almost 30 years.

A dent puller will NOT pull that out. No way.

A PDR specialist might be able to pop that out. Get behind it and massage it out. I've seen them repair a lot worse and it costs a fraction of what a body shop would charge. Go on yelp and plug in PDR for your area.

No, he needs to NOT touch someone else's car. I would never ever let someone touch my car if I got into an accident or even got a scratch.

This x1000. E20's at fault here and is in no position to dictate anything.

If E20 honestly thinks the other person will allow him to fix their car with some [censored] Walmart dent removal kit & touch up paint, he's smoking crack. Sadly, this is another topic for him to make more useless posts about. Be prepared for 10 pages of unintelligible sentence fragments inquiring about Harbor Freight dent removal tools, metric vs SAE paint bottles, and if junkyards sell Volkswagen doors

If done professionally and done right, this is likely going to cost more than $500.

The guy has even less brains than you do if he agreed to just "trust you" on this.
